Grumpy Says:I call this genre of music cyber-folk, because I like saying stupid things. I would like to re-record basically everything on this song, and probably will, but this is still a decent version. Rock to the uke, I command it!

Dr. Franklin

Grumpy’s thoughts: This is probably our favorite right now. A semi blues-rock little number about the nuanced workings of the human heart. Grumpy on vocals and guitar, Scrub on Bass, Drummy “The Drum Machine” McHine on incredibly precise drums.

I am not sure if we will do anything more to this one, aside from getting a real drum track on it, and maybe a nice dirty guitar lead in the instrumental breaks towards the end.

Scrub’s thoughts: According to the music aficionados on garageband.com, not only is the sound unforgivably muddy, but this is not Blues Rock. What genre is this? If you know, tell us.

Grumpy’s thoughts: One of the first songs we collaborated on when Scrub came back to us from the Western Wastes. A simple acoustic jam about a man who dared to love too much. Not sure what it needs, I imagined it as pretty stark and straightforward.

Scrub’s thoughts: There’s not a lot I would change about this song, other than rapping the chorus.

Grumpy’s thoughts: Yeah, we aren’t going to do that.

Grumpy’s thoughts: Who doesn’t love a good story song? This is a semi-traditional sea shanty, with a few odd touches. Words, vocals, acoustic rhythm, and electric rhythm by Grumpy. Bass by Scrub. Melancholy guitar meanderings by Dave James of Skunkweed.

I may re-record the vocals on this one, but DJOB and Scrub say I shouldn’t dick with them.
